Capturing Craft: Two Days with AutoFX and a Lamborghini Revuelto
There are shoots where you turn up, get the content, and leave. And then there are shoots where you find yourself genuinely watching what’s happening in front of the lens, because the work itself is that impressive.
The AutoFX project was the latter.
AutoFX are a PPF installation company based in Tyringham, Buckinghamshire. The brief was straightforward: document a full body PPF install on a brand new Lamborghini Revuelto, and capture the detailing process that followed. What wasn’t so straightforward was the car itself.
The Revuelto is not a forgiving subject. Its surfaces are complex, its lines aggressive, and its panels uncompromising. Applying PPF to a car like this isn’t just a technical job, it’s a skilled one. Watching Jack and Kieran work through the more demanding areas of the car, navigating edges, curves, and tight corners with precision and patience, made it clear immediately that this was a team who take what they do seriously.
What stood out beyond the technique was the thoroughness of the install. The PPF wasn’t simply laid over the obvious surface areas. It was taken properly around panel edges, into the recesses, applied in the way you’d want if it were your car. That level of care is exactly what video is built to communicate, because it’s almost impossible to convey in a still image or a written description.
Day one was dedicated entirely to the PPF application: the prep, the process, and the finishing detail that separates a good install from a great one. Day two brought in the team from Warman Detailing, who handled the detailing stage. Two disciplines, one car, one location, and a shoot structure that gave each element the time and attention it deserved.
