A New Home for Barrington

Some projects carry a straightforward brief and a meaningful outcome. The Barrington Sports Pavilion is one of those. Commissioned as a new community facility for the village of Barrington, the pavilion sits directly beside the village cricket pitch, giving the cricket club a proper home for the first time. NGU delivered the build, and Ellam Media was brought in to capture it at completion.

The Project

Main contractor NGU has built a reputation for delivering quality construction across a range of project types. The Barrington Sports Pavilion is a community-facing build, designed to serve the village and provide lasting infrastructure for grassroots sport. It is the kind of project where the finished photography and video needs to reflect the care that went into the construction, communicating quality to future clients and stakeholders alike.

The Shoot

The brief called for a full suite of content: interior and exterior stills, video walkthroughs, and drone footage to place the pavilion in the context of the cricket ground and the wider village setting.

The interior was shot first, on a rainy morning before the client moved in. That timing was deliberate. An empty building reads cleanly on camera, with nothing to distract from the architecture, the finishes, and the craftsmanship of the build. The conditions outside were far from ideal, but inside the pavilion the light was workable and the space told its own story.

The exterior and aerial work came a week later, once the weather had cleared. Returning to a project for the second phase of a shoot is always a considered decision, but in this case it was the right one. Drone footage of a sports pavilion next to a cricket pitch needs open skies to land properly, and waiting for them made the difference.

The Result

The finished content gives NGU a complete visual record of the Barrington Sports Pavilion at the point of handover, a body of work that demonstrates the standard of their delivery and the scale of what they have built for the local community. For the village of Barrington and its cricket club, it marks the beginning of something new. For NGU, it is another project worth being proud of, and worth showing.
